In my 20’s I began in journalism, working on a regional newspaper in Launceston, Tasmania.
Following this I continued as a freelance writer, contributing articles for travel magazines, specialist magazines, art publications and online media outlets.
I am currently working on a number of writing projects, including creative non fiction and fiction novels.
Articles have been published in major Australian publications including Theatre Notes, Imprint, Artshub, Art Monthly Australia, Australian Stage.
I was an official reviewer for the Sydney Biennale 2012 and invited by the Huffington Post as an International Blogger to review the World Social Enterprise Conference in San Francisco in 2010.
The Critical Acclaim program funded by the Tasmanian Government in 2009, allowed me to review the Ten Days on the Island Festival Program and I was an International Blogger for the Huffington Post.
I subsequently co-founded WriteResponse, an online arts reviewing blog with ten contributing Tasmanian writers who volunteered their time to write.
In 2009 I launched a creative consultancy business and took on large scale projects, such as the redesign of the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery. This included writing and design of the interpretive material and gallery storytelling.
Keen to support other writers I held a position on the Board of the Tasmanian Writers Centre and later became Communications Manager.
I continue to work part time for the Tasmanian Government in the Women and Equality portfolio.
