ART TRIAGE was an innovative program I created in 2018 with the Hobart Resource Centre (South Hobart Tip Shop) to manage the donation of original artworks. Amongst the many paintings, prints and photographs there are some gems; works by Tasmanian artists, with many of them original paintings or limited edition prints.
This program enabled the organisation to take care of the art, research the artists and find good homes. Money raised through the sale of artwork was directed back into the art program so that we can continue to look after artworks and provide low cost artwork to the community. The value of works was determined by the calibre of the artist, the quality of the work and sometimes in the topical nature of the subject matter.
Artriage gave the community access to affordable and original artwork and contributed to saving, restoring and re-homing artworks. I developed a transferable model that could be used by many organisations and continue to collect and re-home original artworks.
